Job Description

Department: Corporate IT

Reports To: Vice President, Information Services

Location: Elmhurst, IL

 

 

The IT Project Manager will be responsible for engaging with IT vendors, internal IT team and operations / functional stakeholders to proactively identify opportunities, gather requirements, evaluate business cases, develop project documentation, ensure conformance to PMO standards, manage project execution, track & communicate project status, etc.

  • Oversee successful initiation, planning, design, execution, monitoring, controlling and closure of projects
  • Partner with operations & functional stakeholders to identify / evaluate business requirements, prepare business case, develop project charter, etc.
  • Proactively identify business process optimization & application functionality improvements
  • Maintain comprehensive understanding of current and future business needs
  • Engage with IT vendors & internal IT team to identify effort & cost for initiatives and prioritize development work
  • Ensure PMO guidelines & protocols are followed appropriately
  • Drive adoption of ITIL & SDLC best practices
  • Proactively drive projects end-to-end from inception through post-production
  • Assist IT team with project planning, score-carding, tracking, change management,  communication & lesson learnt sessions
  • Define and measure project success metrics  
  • Ensure project business cases are tracked and reviewed as appropriate
  • Coordinate development of Business Continuity Plans for all business units
  • Manage application & system user access verification process
  • Coordinate execution of IT tasks on acquisitions and ensure conversion of IT systems to established standards
  • Other duties as assigned

Qualifications

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent work experience in Business Administration, Computer Science, Information Systems or related disciplines
  • 7+ years of work experience as a Project Manager, Applications Manager or Applications Lead
  • 5+ years of experience leading projects in the Back-office (HR, Accounting, etc.) or ERP applications space
  • Experience managing large business process optimization / application functionality enhancement projects
  • Knowledge of end to end business processes (Order to Cash, Procure to Pay, etc.) preferred
  • Proven track record for successful delivery of projects and working cross-functionally with business and IT
  • Customer relationship focused, process driven, metric focused, results oriented, organized, self-directed
  • Project Management Professional (PMP) certification preferred
  • Experience working with Waterfall and Agile methodologies
  • Knowledge of Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) & ITIL (IT Infrastructure Library) processes
  • Proficiency in automated Project Management Tools such as Microsoft Project
  • Ability to influence and build relationships
  • Strong communication and presentation skills
  • Must be flexible to travel within US & Canada, if needed
